Support to Multilateral Environment Agreements

One of the principal objectives in establishment of the EMG was to solicit and facilitate UN system wide support to the implementation of the Multilateral Environmental Agreements.

EMG identifies emerging issues in the Agendas of the MEAs that require joint efforts and finds ways of engaging its collective capacity to respond to those issues.

The UN climate neutral initiative, the 2010 biodiversity targets and beyond as well as the EMG land initiative are the current EMG cooperative exercises that involve the active participation of MEA Secretariats and the relevant UN agencies.
